With its attractive sales, actions, and events Bonn's shops will make your shopping a pleasure. The extensive pedestrian precinct of the inner city is ideal for strolling, window-shopping and good-value deals. The traders on the daily (except Sundays) market sell fresh fruit and vegetables, delicatessen and flowers. Enjoy the hustle and bustle of a lively market square and, weather permitting, a nice cup of coffee in one of the street cafés with a view of the historic Town Hall.
Bonn's various districts also have their own small shopping areas.
Restaurants and nightlife
In 2005, Bonn was selected as Germany's number one gourmet city by Gault Millau. There is something to suit every single taste here. As a university city, Bonn also has a wide variety of bars, pubs, and clubs on offer.
The Bonn Restaurant Guide (Bonner Restaurantführer), published biannually, provides a fairly comprehensive overview of restaurants, bars, and pubs in Bonn (albeit in German only). It is available from newsagents, petrol stations, etc. and costs €6.
