Bonn is justifiably proud of its greenery, from the court gardens behind the university and the banks of the Rhine in the centre, to the open access parks and vast forests like the nature reserve of Kottenforst. Located at the geographical heart of Bonn, the Rheinaue Leisure Park, site of the 1979 National Horticultural Show, is almost as big as the city centre itself.

Information on the "Rheinaue Leisure Park" can be found here.

The booklet "Green Freedom - A Guide to Bonn's Parks" ("Grüne Freiheit - ein Parkführer für Bonn", available only in German!) describes 25 major parks in Bonn and summarises information about opening hours, how to get there, and guided tours.

The Park Guide is available for collection at the Department of City Greens (Amt für Stadtgrün), Stadthaus, Berliner Platz 2, 53103 Bonn, Floor 5 E. Or send a self-addressed and stamped DIN A5 envelope (EUR 1.45).
